Planning
Success
Ridge Wind Energy uses state of the art locating and measuring equipment systems to find the best areas for development. Satellite images, wind data at elevation, and terrain maps help determine where the wind will be and at what constant velocity it will be at. Initial building and road requirements are also easily assessed with this technology prior to speaking with land owners.
Wind turbine technology has advanced tremendously since the 1970's. Wind energy systems now boast output capacities up to five megawatts of power per turbine. As wind turbine size increases, the requirement for less towers and higher through put becomes a welcome reality. Where in the old days maybe hundreds of towers and turbines would be required to produce a viable quantity of electric power it is now possible to create the same amount of energy with much fewer turbines and at less cost for erection and installation.
